Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

Refine the size, shape, and structure of the nose — or correct breathing problems — for a result that brings the entire face into harmony.

Nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, is a procedure designed to improve the size and shape of the nose and/or correct breathing problems associated with the nasal passage. As the central feature of the face, the nose plays a significant role in determining overall facial harmony.

Rhinoplasty helps create a nose that is in balance with the rest of the face, correcting the results of genetic differences or traumatic injuries. Dr. Hua utilizes a variety of techniques to resize, reshape, and fine-tune the nose for elegant, natural-looking results.

Benefits

Why patients choose Rhinoplasty

01

Reduce Overall Size

Refine an overly prominent nose to bring it into proportion with the rest of your face.

02

Smooth the Bridge

Eliminate bumps, humps, or depressions for a clean, even profile.

03

Refine the Tip

Change the size, shape, or projection of the nasal tip for a defined, natural-looking result.

04

Reshape the Nostrils

Widen or narrow the nostrils to balance proportion and improve airflow.

05

Improve Breathing

Straighten a deviated septum to address chronic breathing issues alongside aesthetic refinement.

06

Restore Harmony

Adjust the angle between the nose and upper lip for a profile that flows.

Candidacy

Is Rhinoplasty right for you?

  • You are unhappy with the size, shape, or proportion of your nose
  • You have bumps, depressions, or asymmetries on the nasal bridge
  • You have a deviated septum or chronic breathing difficulty
  • You are physically healthy, non-smoking, and have realistic expectations
  • Your facial growth is complete

Techniques

Tailored approaches

Open Rhinoplasty

A small incision is made across the columella (the strip of tissue between the nostrils) under the nose. This allows the most visibility for Dr. Hua during surgery — ideal for more complex reshaping.

  • Performed under general anesthesia
  • Small incision across the columella under the nose
  • Allows the most visibility for the surgeon during the procedure

Closed Rhinoplasty

All incisions are made on the inside of the nose, leaving no visible external scarring. Best suited for refinements that don’t require dramatic reshaping of the lower nose.

  • Performed under either IV sedation or general anesthesia
  • Incisions are made on the inside of the nose
  • Shorter surgical and recovery time
